Abstract:
Provided is a surface treatment agent with which an aluminum-containing substrate, which is suitable as an electrode material for aluminum electrolytic capacitors and has a high capacitance, can be produced. The surface treatment agent is used to treat the surface of the aluminum-containing substrate. The surface treatment agent contains a solvent and a compound represented by general formula (1) below. (In general formula (1), m represents 1 or 2, n represents an integer of 3-6, and X represents a fluorine atom or a hydroxymethyl group.)
