Abstract:
Provided is a surface treatment agent capable of forming a film in which odor is suppressed and which has exceptional hydrophilicity and corrosion resistance. A surface treatment agent containing one or more selected from water-soluble inorganic oxides and salts thereof (A), one or more selected from hydrolysates and condensation products of an organoalkoxysilane (B), a water-soluble resin (C), an ether compound (D), and water and/or a water-miscible solvent, the surface treatment agent being such that (MA+MB)/(MA+MB+MC+MD)=0.01-0.7, where MA, MB, MC, and MD respectively represent the total mass of the one or more selected from water-soluble inorganic oxides and salts thereof (A), the total mass of the one or more selected from hydrolysates and condensation products of an organoalkoxysilane (B), the mass of the water-soluble resin (C), and the mass of the ether compound (D).
