Title:
SURFACE TREATMENT METHOD FOR EFFECTIVE GENE TRANSFER ONTO AN IMPLANT MATERIAL SURFACE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/081271
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a dental implant, and more particularly, to a dental implant on which a gene-gene transfer compound, in which a biocompatible gene and a gene transfer material for effectively transferring the biocompatible gene are coupled together, is coated. According to the present invention, the gene is directly coated onto the surface of the implant using a biomolecular technique. Thus, after the implant is implanted, the gene directly and continuously proliferates cells within osteoblasts to significantly improve the biocompatibility of the implant material. Accordingly, since a selective gene is directly transferred into the osteoblasts, a more extensive and successful procedure may be possible through various personal gene selections in patients for which the implant procedure is not suitable due to periodontal diseases such as inflammation accompanying the implant procedure.
