Abstract:
[Problem] To ensure sight of an object under observation is not lost from the field of view of a monitor. [Solution] Provided is a surgical arm system which is provided with: a polyarticular arm in which a plurality of joint parts are connected by a plurality of links in a rotatable manner, and which is capable of supporting an oblique-viewing endoscope at the tip end; and a control system for controlling the polyarticular arm such that the position and orientation of the oblique-viewing endoscope are changed. The control system controls the rotational speed and/or the movement speed of the oblique-viewing endoscope on the basis of the position of the object under observation within the field of view in which imaging is performed via the oblique-viewing endoscope.
