Abstract:
A surgical thread transporter has a grip part (10), an outer casing (70) fixed to the grip part (10), a hollow needle (80) extending inside the outer casing (70) and movable in an axial direction relative to the outer casing (70), and a loop (90) capable of being accommodated inside the hollow needle (80). The loop (90) can retain a ligature (92). A tip part (72) of the outer casing (70) is bent. The flexural rigidity of the outer casing (70) in a bend direction (26) is less than the flexural rigidity of the hollow needle (80). The hollow needle (80) is advanced so that a tip (82) of the hollow needle (80) is exposed from the outer casing (80) prior to puncturing of skin by the hollow needle (80). The outer casing (70) then assumes a linear shape along the hollow needle (80). When the hollow needle (80) is retracted toward the grip part (10), the tip part (72) of the outer casing (70) bends along an organ. The flexural rigidity of the outer casing (70) in the direction (25) perpendicular to the bend direction (26) thereof is large, and the peritoneum and preperitoneal fascia can be separated by rotating the tip part (72) of the outer casing (70) about the aforementioned axis.
