Abstract:
An embeddable and refillable drug release device is provided which achieves drug delivery with the drug release speed controllable at a desired release speed over long periods of time of at least several months.
For implantation in the body, this sustained drug release device can be reinjected with the drug using a syringe in a state implanted in the body, and comprises a box-shape polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) reservoir and a PDMS sheet lid encapsulating the drug, and has a porous gradual release surface.
