A swimming pool cleaning robot and a control method. The swimming pool cleaning robot comprises a body (10), a sensor, a first motor (20), and a second motor (30). A water intake opening (40) is formed at the bottom of the body (10), the tail portion of the body (10) is backwardly provided, in a horizontal direction, with a first water discharge opening (50) communicated with the water intake opening (40), and the top portion of the body (10) is upwardly provided, in a vertical direction, with a second water discharge opening (60) communicated with the water intake opening (40). The sensor is provided at the front end of the body (10) and used for detecting a motion state of the body (10). The first motor (20) is used for, when the sensor detects that the body (10) is in a first motion state, controlling the first water discharge opening (50) to discharge water. The second motor (30) is used for, when the sensor detects that the body (10) is in a second motion state, controlling the second water discharge opening (60) to discharge water. The motion stability of the swimming pool cleaning robot is improved, and the cleaning efficiency and the cleaning effect are improved.
