A switch device is provided with: a plurality of communication ports; a switch unit for relaying a frame, which is transmitted from a function unit and to which is added information that includes the ID and priory information of a VLAN, to other function units via the communication ports in accordance with the priority information; and a replication unit that, when a diagnosis device is connected to some other switch device, replicates the frame that should be relayed via a designated communication port among the plurality of communication ports to thereby generate a replicated frame for diagnosis. The replication unit is capable of setting the priority information added to the replicated frame for diagnosis separately from the priority information added to the frame that is the source of the replication, and the switch unit outputs the replicated frame for diagnosis that has been generated by the replication unit from the communication port that corresponds to the other switch device in accordance with the priority information set by the replication unit.
