Title:
SWITCHED RELUCTANCE MOTOR APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/030499
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is one object to provide a switched reluctance motor apparatus with a superior torque/weight ratio. Preferably, at least one of nine-phase 9/8 SRM and a seven phase 9/8 SRM and a five-phase 10/8 SRM having uneven rotor pole gaps, are proposed. The five-phase SRM is driven by a power converter with six switching elements. The seven-phase SRM is driven by a power converter with eight switching elements. The nine-phase SRM is driven by a power converter with ten switching elements. one ends of all phase windings are connected to a common neutral point N of a star-connection. The stator core and the rotor core of the radial-gap type SRM is made of a steel tape wound spirally to the axial direction. Each phase winding is made of a conductor tape wound spirally to the stator poles. The coil end portion of the phase winding has cooling domains extending to the radial direction between adjacent two turns of the spirally-wound conductor tape.
