Abstract:
Provided is a reader switching device that makes it possible to use a conventional reader even in a gate device that supports biometric authentication technology. A switching device 1 is provided with: a base part 10 that is disposed on the top surface of a gate device 4 and has a mounting part 101 on which a first reader 2 is mounted; a support part 20 that is rotatably attached at one end by a hinge part 103 for the support part disposed at the rearward end of the base part 10, and has an engagement part 202 at the other end; and a shielding part 30 that is formed of an opaque material and rotatably attached at one end by a hinge part 302 for the shielding part disposed at the frontward end of the base part 10, wherein when the shielding part 30 is in an open state, the shielding part 30 visibly exposes a second reader 3 while covering the first reader 2 so as to prevent the first reader 2 from being viewed, and when the shielding part 30 is in a closed state, the shielding part 30 visibly exposes the first reader 2 while covering the second reader 3 so as to prevent the second reader 3 from being viewed.
