Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a switching device capable, when power is to be shut-off by a switch, of shutting-off a direct current power safely, through a simple configuration, without the generation of an arc.
[Solution] Provided is the switching device comprising a switch installed in a system for running electrical power, and a fuse installed in parallel to the switch and having a conductor sealed therein. The fuse is not melted by a current that flows when the switch is in a closed state with respect to the system, and is melted by a current that flows when the switch is in an open state with respect to the system. A transition of the switch from the open state to the closed state with respect to the system allows the fuse to be exchanged for one that is not melted.
