Abstract:
It is intended to provide a synechia inhibitory material which is excellent in biocompatibility and bioabsorbability and has a favorable strength in suture and adhesion. A synechia inhibitory material composed of a gelatin film 11 and a reinforcing member 12 having been integrated with each other can be obtained by putting the reinforcing member 12 made of a biodegradable and absorbable polymer in a gelatin solution, thus allowing the solution to penetrate into the reinforcing member 12, and then gelling and drying the gelatin. It is favorable that the reinforcing member 12 is located at a sutured part of the gelatin film 11 and at the edge of the gelatin film 11. The gelatin film 11 is favorably a crosslinked gelatin film and the reinforcing member 12 is favorably made of nonwoven fabric.
