Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for making a 4-substituted pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde compound comprising reacting: a) a pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde compound; and b) an alkylating agent; c) in the presence of at least one catalyst; to form a 4-alkyl substituted pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde compound.
