Provided is a system for automatically adding covering slag for a crystallizer. The system comprises a control system, two material bins (1), a material conveying pipe (3), a rack (4), a robot (5), a screw conveyer (8) and an infrared detection device, wherein the rack comprises an upper rack and a lower rack; the material bins, the material conveying pipe and the robot are arranged from top to bottom, the material bins are fixed to the upper rack and connected to the material conveying pipe, the material conveying pipe is connected to the screw conveyer, and the screw conveyer is fixed to the robot; the robot is hung upside down below the lower rack, and the robot can transversely move along the lower rack; and the control system is respectively connected to the infrared detection device, the material bins, the robot and the screw conveyer. The system realizes intelligent and automatic slag addition without manual intervention. With the two material bins, switching between various covering slags is realized, improving the slag replacement efficiency. The robot is hung upside down for slag addition, solving the problem of the equipment occupying a large space.
