A iYi i tivi FOR CANCELLATION OF NOISE IN AN AIR COOLIIXIU utviut

TECHNICAL FIELD OF INVENTION:

[001] The present invention relates to a system for cancellation of noise in an air cooling device.

BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:

[002] Air cooling devices or air coolers help in cooling air, especially during summer season, or in hot, dry and arid regions. During operation, cold water which is stored in a water tank is pumped and circulated through a plurality of cooling pads. The cooling pads are manufactured with a material, such as a non-woven fabric or a paper, which enables the cold water to wet the cooling pad. A blower fan positioned in vicinity of the cooling pads suck ambient air from outside of the air cooling device. While the air is sucked in the cooling device by the blower fan, it flows through the cooling pads which are wet. The heat in the air is transferred in the cold water, thereby cooling the air flowing through the cooling pad. The air which now cooled is blown out along with a mist so that a user gets to experience cooled air in their surroundings.

[003] The cold water which is pumped and circulated through the cooling pad, spreads through entire body of the cooling pad by an action called as capillary effect. However, since the cold water is continuously pumped towards the cooling pads, hence excess of cold water begins to drain out of a bottom side of the cooling pad. The excess water falls back into the water tank so that it can be repumped and recirculated through the cooling pads. As the excess water falls back into the water tank, it causes a splashing sound or noise of the water falling in the water tank. The splashing noise thus caused can be irritable and undesirable, especially whenever the air cooling device has to be kept switched on during night time, during which it leads to disturbances to the user, namely loss of sleep. [004] In view of the above, there is need for a solution, wherein the problem which is seen in the prior art, i.e. disturbances caused to the user, such as loss of sleep during night time due to noise produced by splashing of water into the water tank of an air cooling device, can be overcome.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:

[005] In order to overcome the above-mentioned problems, the present invention as per an embodiment provides a system for cancellation of noise in an air cooling device, the system comprising: a cooling pad; a collection pan fitted with the cooling pad collects a fluid from the cooling pad; and a delivery means extending from the collection pan to a water tank to deliver the fluid at a base of the water tank.

[006] As per an embodiment of the present invention, the collection pan has an angled base angled at an angle between 1° and 4° with respect to the base.

[007] As per another embodiment of the present invention, the collection pan is angled for the fluid to flow towards an outlet by gravity.

[008] As per still another embodiment of the present invention, the outlet extends longitudinally towards the base forming a projection below the collection pan.

[009] As per yet another embodiment of the present invention, the delivery means at a one end is fitted on the projection and an opposite end of the delivery means opens at the base of the water tank.

[010] As per an embodiment of the present invention, the delivery means is a pipe made of a flexible material or a semi-rigid material.

[011] As per another embodiment of the present invention, the delivery means is manufactured with a material having anti-microbial properties.

[012] As per still another embodiment of the present invention, the material having antimicrobial properties comprising an anti-microbial compound. [013] As per yet another embodiment of the present invention, the anti-microbial compound is an anti-bacterial compound or an anti-viral compound or a combination thereof.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[001] While this invention is susceptible of embodiments in many different forms, there is shown in the drawings and will herein be described in detail, a preferred embodiment of the invention with the understanding that the present disclosure is to be considered as an exemplification of the principles of the invention and is not intended to limit the broad aspects of the invention to the embodiment illustrated.

[017] The subject matter is now described regarding the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like features/elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention. It may be evident, however, that such matter can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures are shown in diagram form to facilitate describing the invention. [018] Referring to the accompanying drawing Figs. 1 to 3, a system (100) for cancellation of noise in an air cooling device (C), as per embodiments of the present invention can be seen, wherein the system (100) comprises a cooling pad (110);a collection pan (120) fitted with the cooling pad (110) collects a fluid from the cooling pad (110); and a delivery means (140) extending from the collection pan (120) to a water tank (130) to deliver the fluid at a base (250) of the water tank (130). The collection pan (120) has an angled base (260) angled at an angle between 1° and 4° with respect to the base (250), as per an embodiment of the present invention. The collection pan (120) has an angled base (260) for the fluid to flow towards an outlet by gravity, as per another embodiment of the present invention. The outlet extends longitudinally towards the base (250) forming a projection (270) below the collection pan (120), as per yet another embodiment of the present invention. The delivery means (140, 240, 340) at a one end is fitted on the projection (270) and an opposite end of the delivery means (140, 240, 340) opens at the base (250) of the water tank (230), as per still another embodiment of the present invention. The delivery means (140) is a pipe (140) made of a flexible material or a semi-rigid material, as per an embodiment of the present invention. The delivery means (140) is manufactured with a material having anti-microbial properties, as per yet another embodiment of the present invention. The material having anti-microbial properties comprising an anti-microbial compound, as per another embodiment of the present invention. The anti-microbial compound is an anti-bacterial compound or an anti-viral compound or a combination thereof, as per still another embodiment of the present invention. [019] Referring to the accompanying drawing Figs. 1 and 2, the air cooling device (C) is an air cooler as per a preferred embodiment of the present invention. The system (100) for cancellation of noise is installed inside the air cooling device (C). The system (100) is made up of a cooling pad (110), wherein water which is stored in a water tank (130) is pumped by known means into the cooling pad (110), thereby ensuring that the cooling pad (110) remains wet or moist during operation. The collection pan (120) is fitted at a bottom side of the cooling pad (110). Therefore, excess water dripping from the cooling pad (110) collects in the collection pan (120). The excess water dripping in the collection pan (120) flows towards an outlet (not shown in Fig. 1) defined on an angled base (260) of the collection pan (120). Owing to an angled nature of the angled base (260) of the collection pan (120), the excess water flows towards the outlet by gravity. The outlet extends longitudinally or downwards towards the base (250) of the water tank (130), thereby forming the projection (270) below the collection pan (120). The delivery means (140), which is essentially a pipe (140) in a preferred embodiment of the present invention, is tightly fitted on the projection (270) at one end, whereas other end of the delivery means (140) extends from the projection (270)till the base (250) of the water tank (130), thereby enabling the excess water from the collection pan (130) to be delivered directly at the base (250) of the water tank (130). By having the excess water directly delivered at the base (250) of the water tank (130) enables that splashing noise or sound of the excess water falling in the water tank is reduced or completely cancelled.

[020] Again, referring to the accompanying drawing Fig. 2, the collection pan (220) of the system (200) comprises the angled base (260) and the outlet (not shown) longitudinally extending to form the projection (270). The delivery means (240) is tightly fitted on the projection (270) on one side, whereas the other side extends longitudinally to touch the base (250) of the water tank (230). The delivery means (240) pass through holes (286) defined on a water tank cover (280) and extends up to the base (250) of the water tank (230). The water tank cover (280) is made of polypropylene, and is fitted by known means on top of the water tank (230). The water tank cover (280) has a plurality of openings (282) defined on its surface. The openings (282) may be open. In an alternate embodiment of the present invention, a mesh cover is accommodated or fitted by known means over the openings (282) for disallowing vector / mosquito breeding in the water stored in the water tank (230). Additionally, an opening cover (290) is fitted in known ways to cover the openings (282), thereby ensuring very low possibility of vector / mosquito breeding. A removable tray (288) is fitted by known means in a cavity (284) which is defined between the cover (280) and an upper edge of the water tank (230). The water tank (230) is replenished by fresh water through the tray. Alternately, ice cubes can be placed in the tray so that cold water trickles down from the tray and into the water tank (230). In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the various components of the air cooling device (C), such as the cover (280), the water tank (230), or the delivery means, are made up of materials having anti-bacterial and / or anti-viral additives or properties, e.g. Calcium carbonate/Talc filled (from 5-50wt.%) PVC/PVC-Nitrile compounds incorporated with Nano-silver and/or Nano-copper particles.

[021] Again, referring to the accompanying drawing Fig. 3, the air cooling device (C) in a sectional front view can be seen. The system (300) for noise cancellation as per an embodiment of the present invention shows the cooling pads (310). The water present in the water tank (330) is pumped by a pumping device (P) to the cooling pads (310). The excess water from the cooling pads (310) which is collected in the collection pan (320) flows through the delivery means (340) or the pipe(340) which is fitted on the protrusion (370) of the collection pan (320) at a top side end. The delivery means extends from the protrusion (370) till the base (350) of the water tank (330), wherein a bottom side end of the delivery means (340) is in physical contact or touches the base (350) of the water tank (340).

[022] Again referring to the accompanying drawing Figs. l, 2 and 3, a technical advantage of having the delivery means (140, 240, 340) in physical contact with the base (350) of the water tank (340), as described above, the excess water collected in the collection pan (120, 220, 320) is delivered directly at the base (250, 350) of the water tank (130, 230, 330), thereby ensuring that splashing noise or sound of the excess water falling from the collection pan (120, 220, 320) into the water tank (130, 230, 330) is avoided, reduced or cancelled altogether. This is because, the excess water falling from the collection pan (120, 220, 320) into the water tank (130, 230, 330) is delivered directly at the base (250, 350) of the water tank (130, 230, 330), which is a technical advancement over the existing knowledge or prior art.
