A SYSTEM FOR THE GENERATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

Details Description of Invention:

It is generally known knowledge from the ancient Egyptian and Roman times that siphon can be used for transfer liquids from higher level to lower level using gravity.

It has been debated for centuries on how siphon is working. Different researchers and physicist concluded saying it is because of atmospheric pressure, gravity and cohesion. But other researchers also proved that:

1. Without much atmospheric pressure also siphon works! ^{1) (2)}

2. Without gravity also siphon works due to capillary action ⁽³⁾

3. Without liquid cohesion also siphon works ⁽⁴⁾

Then another myth is siphon will not work above 10 meters height. That also proved wrong by researchers from Australia! ⁵⁾ and south America! ⁶⁾ .

Even with the modern science, still the question stays and mystery continues, as siphon still works even if we remove atmosphere or gravity or cohesion, in certain conditions. Also it is proved working above lOmeters height under certain conditions, like degassing.

Inventor worked with open mind and observed for clues from the nature and science to solve the problems on how to use gravity to lift water above lOmeters height in huge quantities, as that is the only renewable source which is available 24x7 and all over the world.

After many failed experiments, now inventor developed a concept which may have ability to lift water above 10 meters height using gravity as renewable energy source.

For better control of flowrates and vacuum electronic sensors and controls can be integrated into the system. This invention requirement become more relevant in the present conditions of COVID 19, Wars, high dependability on fossil fuels, emission of greenhouse gasses which effecting climate, increasing global temperatures and natural calamities year by year.

Present renewable energy systems are mainly dependent on:

-Solar

-Wind

-Pumped storage -Geothermal

But efficacy of the these are limited and need huge energy transmission grids. Failure is grid in one area/country due to natural calamities or unrest can stops supply of much needed energy in other places or countries.

By using gravity as renewable source of energy the system can be run 24x7 and anywhere on planet and can produce C02 free energy. This system also can be off grid.

Invention is intended to provide large scale energy 24x7 by modular systems. It helps in reducing C02 emissions from power generated using fossil fuels considerably, as almost 30% of C02 is being generated from consumption of fossil fuels for power generation. As power generation by fossil fuels can work with higher efficiency and 24x7, which none of the present renewable energy sources can match. To reduce impact of carbon emissions, there is an urgent need for innovation in better renewable methods and systems which can generate power 24x7 and match need of the hour.

Proposed system can solve following doubts which are key to this invention....

- Siphon is used for transfer liquids from upper reservoir to lower reservoir.... Can we use siphon to transfer water from source reservoir to other reservoir which is of same or higher level Gravity pulls all things down, but can we use gravity in combination of vacuum to lift water to above lOmeters height.

This invention can be used in continuous power generation 24x7, 365days without C02 emissions. Like in Hydel power generation we can use electromagnets or permanent magnets for generation of power. This will be the invention which uses gravity as renewable source of energy for power generation.

If this innovative technology is used in Pumped storage hydro power, to pump the water to much higher elevation (for example - lOOmeters and above), then some intermittent holding tanks will be used for transferring water from one level to next level. Vacuum in all those tanks will be maintained with vacuum pump(s). Only one discharge pipe will be there from topmost tank to turbine for power generation. Once primed this system can generate continuous electrical power while using minimal part of power generated for maintaining vacuum. We can use huge quantities of water or height with less water to take advantage of gravity. By increasing the height we can reduce huge water storage and requirement.

Proposed system may eliminate need for large storage need in PSH at upper reservoir, so that it reduces cost of the project and production cost per unit.

This can be installed on any water body like rivers, reservoirs, lakes, wells and even in seas, whereby it can generate electricity without polluting the water body or causing damage to aquatic life in the water body.

Proposed system is primed and vacuum may be maintained by using battery, solar energy, wind energy, or self generated energy as priming energy need.

For this invention power, energy, electricity words have been used interchangeably

US Prov Pat# 63222702 16-JUL-2021 (Priority being claimed for POT) Inventor claims, but not limited to:

- Generation of clean energy by synchronizing gravity, vacuum and siphon in one system. Where in gravity as renewable source of energy.

- System claimed consists of 3 tanks/ reservoirs, one for as water source (a) at base level, second at higher level (b) for holding water before sending for power generation, third at near to base level(c) for collecting water after power generation and before transferring to source (a). Same water will be used for recycling and any operation losses will be replenished.

- System claimed if used at water reservoir, then can eliminate (a) and (c) tanks/ reservoirs and one water reservoir serves both purposes for drawing water and discharging water from the system.

- Generation of clean energy claimed is above 50 (fifty) kilowatt per day and above

- System claimed needed priming for continuous running after that by using synchronization.

- Vacuum claimed is regulated by using vacuum pump at higher level(b) tank or reservoir. Wherein level (b) tank /reservoir is closed and airtight to maintain the vacuum.

In system claimed where in connecting pipes between tanks/ reservoirs (b) and (c) are longer than pipes between tanks /reservoirs (a) and (b)

- System claimed will have capability to produce clean green energy without or very negligible C02 emission impact.

- System will have ability to generate power 24x7, 365 days with gravity as renewable source of energy, except for any down time for maintenance

As prior art, knowledge or science about gravity, vacuum and siphon is well known and established, but these were not used together in one system to generate power which will be green energy, can save from global warming, reduction of C02 and dependency on fossil fuels over a period.

Any variations, modifications and improvements to the proposed system by any person skilled in the art and science falls within the scope of this invention and is anticipated by the inventor.
