Abstract:
This method for detecting removal of a maintenance hatch includes a step of sending a light pulse along an optical fiber. A first part of the optical fiber is in close proximity to the maintenance hatch. The method also includes a step of employing a sensor to detect backscattered light from the optical fiber. The method also includes a step of determining information related to the first part of the optical fiber on the basis of a comparison between the detected backscattered light and a trained model. The method also includes a step of identifying whether the maintenance hatch has been removed, on the basis of the determined information.
