Description:

DESCRIPTION

"THE SYSTEM OF INTERACTIVE BRANCH CABINET" This invention relates to the "system of interactive branch cabinet". In the banking applications, it is the interactive branch application, in which all of the transactions made in the branch can be performed without the need of going to the physical branch and in which all of the face-to-face bank employee-client relations are maintained, and the cabinet system, which ensures this.

Today, the banking transactions are basically performed through the Internet, telephone and ATM banking. As an example, in the Internet banking, the clients perform some banking transactions through the web site of the bank. In the telephone banking, the clients, who call the call center of the bank, perform the banking transactions by talking on the phone, and by pressing the keys on the phone when required. In the branch banking, the clients directly go to the branch, talk with the bank employee face-to-face and have their transactions done. Some of the basic banking transactions, such as drawing and depositing money, checking the account balances, can be performed by using the ATM machines of the banks. Li addition, today, new applications to which the ATM machines and teleconference systems integrated are being used. In these new applications, limited and defined basic transactions over ATM machines are performed by talking to the employee at the call center via videophone system. There is a cabinet with security, isolated from outer environment in our invention. The cabinet section includes elements, such as security cameras, a biometric identification system for identity verification, a video conference system, a computer connected to the computer of the bank center, a data display, a speaker, a microphone, a printer, a scanner, a card reader, money, a section where valuable paper can be given and received, a locking mechanism which enables the door to be locked from the center. At the bank employee section of the center, there are basic components, such as, also, a video conference system, a data display, a display by which the security cameras can be viewed, a computer connected to the database of the bank. For example, if a client, who wants to open an account at the bank, enters in the cabinet and selects new client option on the data display, the employee at the bank center carries out the security control of the cabinet by the security cameras of that cabinet and the cabinet is locked. Via the video conference system in the cabinet and in the bank employee section of the center, required information exchange is provided by the audio and video communication, and if required, document exchange is made through the scanner, the section for giving and receiving paper and the printer. The bank employee, for example, gets the iris record of the client by the help of the biometric control device in the cabinet. If required, the signature of

the client is taken over the signature pad in the cabinet. When a client, who has record in the database of the bank, enters in the cabinet and inserts the card into the card reader, if the bank employee at the center, who provided service for that client before, is available at that time, that employee views the information belonging to the client on the data display in front of him/her. After checking the cabinet security by security cameras, the iris record of the client in the database of the bank is also checked by the biometric control device. The bank employee can again transmit document to the client by sending printout to the printer inside the cabinet. For example, the client can sign the document by the signature pad and transmit it directly to the bank employee or transmit the document signed to the employee via the scanner. The parties can use video and audio communication and exchange required information, money, document, etc.

Today, the banking applications other than the branch banking make limited and defined banking transactions possible. For example, exchange of signed document can not be made in ATM banking. Only money drawing and depositing transactions and the control of account balance and limit can be provided. In the Internet banking, the physically exchange of document and money is not possible. In ATM and Internet banking, it is not possible to exchange information with a bank employee directly, so when the client wants to get information directly from the bank employee, the client should whether use telephone banking or go to a bank branch. The telephone banking also doesn't make the exchange of document and money possible and it requires going to a bank branch. In the branch banking, all of the banking transactions can be provided, however, there is a necessity to go the branch within the working hours. For the ATM machine and the applications to which teleconference systems are integrated, only limited and denned banking transactions can be performed. As they are within the structure of the teleconference system integrated to the ATM machine, they do not have high security. Their function is limited with allowing the client to carry out video conference with a bank employee of the call center, who is available at that time, while they perform their transactions via the ATM machine. As it can be understood from the given examples, all of the banking applications other than the branch banking allow only limited and predefined banking transactions possible. However, our invention enables exactly branch banking from any places where the cabinet is located, in every hour of the day and every day of the week. As the employee at the bank center can watch inside and outside of the cabinet through the cameras and lock the door, high-level client safety in the cabinet is provided. The bank employee can inform the concerned authorities in case of facing with a negative situation. The private records, such as the eye, vessel, and fingerprint of the client inside the cabinet can be controlled through the biometric control

mechanism and the client identification is provided with the ultimate safety level. Recording all of the interviews between the cabinet and the bank center is provided. In the repeated visits of the bank's client, the client can interview with the bank employee who dealed with him/her before. Thus the reliance between the client and bank becomes stronger, and as the client performs the transactions with the employee he/she knows, he/she feels that he/she is safe.

Through the video conference system, the information, which we can get only from a bank employee by going to a bank branch, can be reached inside the cabinet located anywhere with interaction. It is made possible to scan all of the required documents like bills, payrolls and contracts and transmit them to the bank employee immediately by means of scanner and printer aided structure that allows the exchange of money and document. For example, the bank employee, who checks the information and the documents that are transmitted to him/her from the data display in front of him/her, can immediately send payment to the client in the cabinet, who requests consumer loan, by exchange of information and document. As a result of rapid improvements in the sector of banking today, range of services increased and many new applications were presented. Our invention, the cabinet, allows the clients to directly contact with a bank employee, to get information about any kind of transactions and perform these transactions just as in the bank branch. As our invention does not require the client inside the cabinet to enter password or to use keyboard just as in the bank branch, it provides great ease of use. Since our invention, the cabinet, can be positioned in appropriate desired locations at desired number just as an ATM machine, for the banks which use the system, the expenses concerning the high-cost investments such as opening a new branch, are reduced.
