Technical Field

The present invention relates to system which offers an option to select chat groups created in instant messaging applications and users who are unwanted to be added to the merged group and then enables to merge them by command of a group admin.

Background of the Invention

Today, a group admin who has a plurality of different groups as intra-group in instant messaging applications creates a new groups and matches users one by one in order to merge the users who are included in different groups. In the event that a large number of users are included in such groups, group admins need long periods of time to add participants to the new group.

Considering the studies in the state of the art, it is understood that there is need for a system which enables to merge group members -who are requested to be merged in instant messaging applications- automatically by command of group admins.

The Chinese patent document no. CN110875871, an application in the state of the art, discloses a method for merging group messages -which are requested to be merged in instant messaging applications- automatically by command of group admins. The method included in the said invention aims to facilitate transactions of group management in instant messaging applications for users. Steps of initiating a group messaging upon the user selects information of at least two registered persons during transactions of group management; adding an independent person to an existing group when the user selects one person and one group; adding the independent persons who are selected by the user or the persons who are included in the group messages where s/he is the admin, to the newly created group or to an already existing group are carried out in the said invention.

Summary of the Invention

An objective of the present invention is to realize a system which enables to list members of two groups and then to merge them by means of function to remove the persons who will not be included to the new group, instead of creating a new group from all persons consisting of two selected groups, in the process where admins in chat groups that are created in messaging applications merge a plurality of groups wherein they are admins.

Detailed Description of the Invention

“A system for merging groups in instant messaging applications” realized to fulfil the objective of the present invention is shown in the figure attached, in which:

The inventive system (1) which offers an option to select chat groups created in instant messaging applications and users who are unwanted to be added to the merged group, and then enables to merge them by command of a group admin comprises: at least one electronic device (2) which is configured to run at least one application on it; at least one application (3) which runs on the electronic device (2) and is configured to enable users to perform instant messaging between at least two persons, to create messaging groups and to merge the created messaging groups; at least one database (4) which is configured to store information about persons who are registered in the directory of the electronic device (2) user and/or the application (3); at least one server (5) which is configured to create a new group comprising the group members who are requested to be merged by receiving the user information, that are included in the groups requested to be merged, from the database (4) when an action is taken related to merging the groups created over the application (3) by a group admin; and to transmit it to the application (3).

The electronic device (2) included in the inventive system (1) is configured to run at least one application on it. The electronic device (2) is a device such as mobile phone, tablet, computer.

The application (3) included in the inventive system (1) runs on the electronic device (2) and is configured to allow performing instant messaging over messaging groups created by two users or more than two users. The application (3) is configured to present at least one interface comprising an option such as creating a group specific to the user who is the admin of the messaging group, merging group. The application (3) is configured to enable the user who is the admin of the messaging group to view the group members s/he wants to filter on the interface and to select the group members/groups s/he wants to merge. The database (4) included in the inventive system (1) is configured to store information about person who is registered in the electronic device (2) directory and/or the application (3) directory of the user, and/or group.

The server (5) included in the inventive system (1) is configured to receive information about the groups wherein the related user is the admin from the database (4) included and to present these information to the user over the application (3), in the event that the user who is the admin of the messaging group selects the option of merging the group over the application (3). The server (5) is configured to enable the user to make selection of member/group from the groups wherein s/he is the admin over the application (3) and to remove the members who s/he wants to exclude from the existing group members. The server (5) is configured to create a new messaging group wherein the users who belong to the groups determined by the admin user over the application (3) are included and then to transmit it to the application (3).

In the inventive system (1), the user selects the option of creating a special group/merging a group over the application (3) on the electronic device (2) at first. Groups which are extracted by the server (5) from the database (4) on the part of users to be added, and wherein the related user is the admin are listed. The user selects the group member that s/he wants to merge and exclude from the groups wherein s/he is the admin. In accordance with the selected groups and members, the server (5) creates a new group and transmits it to the application (3).

With the invention, group admins can easily merge users who are included in groups wherein they are the admin in messaging applications. All group admins will be able to continue the transaction of creating a new group by pressing on the transaction of group merging on the page where they view the group details and then selecting another group wherein they are the admin on the screen opening with their current group. They will also be able to include different users from the general user list apart from the group, if they wish and they also remove the persons included in the selected groups as well.
