Abstract:
A system and method are provided for determining topologies for an optical transport network (OTN). During operation, the system can obtain a first topology associated with an optical-transmission-section (OTS) layer of the OTN. The first topology can include a number of wavelength-aware nodes corresponding to wavelength-aware devices in the OTN. The system can determine a second topology associated with an optical-multiplex-section (OMS) layer of the OTN based on the first topology associated with the OTS layer of the OTN. While determining the second topology associated with the OMS layer, the system identifies at least one path in the first topology, the path bounded by two wavelength-aware nodes.
