Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for the automatic construction of a focused knowledge base from a corpus of documents. The inventive system is characterised in that it comprises: storage means (4) for storing a set of classes, whereby each class is associated with a knowledge model and each recognition model is associated with a set of extraction patterns; selection means (5) which are used to select at least one class forming part of the focus and which are connected to loading means (6); loading means (6) which are used to load said at least one class and the associated models and patterns and which are, in turn, connected to application means (7); and application means (7) for applying the loaded extraction patterns to the document corpus (3), thereby enabling the instantiation of the loaded knowledge models in order to generate the knowledge base.
