Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and a method for automatically detecting entry into and exit from a region of interest, and more specifically, disclosed is a system and a method for automatically detecting entry into and exit from a region of interest by using wireless positioning and by using the reception period of a beacon message and a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) signal strength. The disclosed system for detecting entry into and exit from a region of interest, the system being for automatically detecting an object entering into and exiting from a region of interest, comprises: a wireless location sensor which is attached to an object, has an identification number assigned thereto, and transmits, at regular periods, a beacon including the identification number; a wireless terminal which receives the beacon transmitted from the wireless location sensor, extracts the identification number included in the beacon, and detects the entering and exiting of the object by using the number of times the identification number was extracted and the RSSI of the beacon during a certain preset time; a server system which receives, from the wireless terminal, detection information of the entering and exiting of the object, and stores and manages same; and a gateway which is connected with the wireless terminal via wireless communication, and is connected with the server via wired communication, thereby mediating data communication between the wireless terminal and the server. According to the present invention, inefficiency due to manual work may be eliminated, and human error may be minimized when managing the receiving/shipping of materials in a material storage area, and since the current status of materials is identified in real-time, the deployment of human resources for material inspection may be minimized, and thus costs may be reduced.
