Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for communication using a constellation of satellites, comprising: - a first layer of satellites situated on a very low Earth orbit (VLEO), - a second layer of satellites situated on a medium Earth orbit (MEO), - one or more ground stations intended (i) to receive information flows of one or more satellites of the first or second layers from a user terminal or (ii) transmit information flows via one or more satellites of the first or second layers to a user terminal, and - a traffic management centre for said system, designed to route said information flows via one or more satellites of the first layer (VLEO) as a priority and, in the absence of a communication link with the first layer (VLEO), to reroute said information flows via one or more satellites of the second layer (MEO).
