Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for generating millimeter-wave noise having a flat frequency spectrum. The method comprises the following steps: a first light emission module outputting a noise light signal, the optical spectrum of which is of a Gaussian shape, and transmitting the noise light signal to an optical coupler; a second light emission module outputting n beams of noise light signals, the optical spectrums of which are of a Gaussian shape, and transmitting the noise light signals to the optical coupler; coupling noise light generated by the first light emission module and the second light emission module into the optical coupler, and transmitting a coupled light signal to a photoelectric detector; and the photoelectric detector performing frequency beating, so as to realize mapping conversion from an optical spectrum to a frequency spectrum, and outputting flat millimeter-wave noise. A light noise signal is used as a noise source, and compared with an electronic noise source, the light noise signal can generate, in a millimeter-wave band, noise having a flat frequency spectrum. Compared with spontaneous radiation noise, the present application proposes performing frequency beating using a plurality of noise light sources having a Gaussian optical spectrum, so as to generate broadband millimeter-wave noise, such that a generated light noise signal has a larger amplitude and a flatter frequency spectrum.
