30 determines that the PC managing program is already installed in the PC of the user 10, and updates the latest information of the PC system of the user 10. (steps S6 and S7) Next, the user selects a menu by clicking an icon of displayed menus (the PC specification view, the device driver retrieve, the PC performance evaluation, the upgrade request, the barter or A/S request) on the main screen of the user monitor. (step S8) In case that the user selects the PC specification view, the Web server 30 sends the information on the PC system of the user stored in the PC specification database of the member to the browser of the user through the Internet protocol. (steps S9 and S10) The information on the PC specification of the user means the information on OS, CPU, RAM, graphic/VGA, HDD, CD-ROM, soundcard, modem, LAN, keyboard, mouse, SCSI and so forth, which are used at present.

Meanwhile, if the user 10 connects to the Web server through a WAP phone, a wireless Internet phone, a wireless informationcommunicationterminalsuchasIMT2000, orother PC, in which the PC managing program is not installed, not his/her PC, after undergoing the member authentication, the user may be provided with the Internet service of the present invention, such as the PC specification view, the device

driver retrieve, the PC performance evaluation, the upgrade request, the barter or A/S request, which are related to his/her PC registered in the PC specification database of the Web server.

If the user selects the device driver retrieve, the Web server 30 retrieves the PC specification database of the user to automatically retrieve the device driver, i. e., a driving program, for the automatically retrieved devices in the device driver database provided in the Web server, so that the device driver files most suitable for the device in the PC of the user 10 may be provided by CD-ROM or may be downloaded by the e-mail or Internet. Accordingly, even though the user does not retrieve the device driver file suitable for him/her one by one, the Web server sets the driver proper to the operating system used at present by the user, thereby providing the environment suitable for the user. (steps S11 to S14) Also, in order to provide other user with these device driver files, a service of storing the files in a private morgue database (not shown) is provided. (step S15) If the user wants to retrieve a device driver file for other device besides the device provided in the user PC, the user may retrieve sequentially the device driver file database in accordance with a peripheral name, a maker, a model number, and an operating system to select the wanted

device driver file. (steps S16 to S22) In addition, if the user selects his/her registered PC performance evaluation, the user may compare his/her

computer performance with a PC performance of his/her friend who is a member of the Web server 30, or compare it with that of the latest product. (step S23) If the user compares his/her computer performance with the PC performance of his/her friend who is a member of the Web server 30, the user retrieves an ID of his/her friend to check whether the friend is a member or not. If yes, the user retrieves the PC specification database to compare his/her system specification with that of his/her friend, and the result is displayed for the user 10. (steps S24 to S26, and S28) If no, the Web server requests the member joining, and returns to the step of retrieving the ID of his/her friend so that the user can compare his/her system specification with that of his/her friend. (step S27) Meanwhile, if the user wants to compare his/her computer with the latest product, the Web server 30 retrieves the PC specification of the user. If the user wants to compare it with the advanced kind on the basis of the CPU, the Web server 30 retrieves the latest product specification database to compare the performance every component in real time, and displays the compared result for the user. (steps S29 to S32, S34 and S35). If the user 10 wants to compare

the performance of his/her PC registered in the Web server with that of the same kind, the Web server compares the performance every component, and display the compared result fortheuser. (stepS33) Accordingly, the user may understand correctly how much does his/her PC have the performance.

If the user identifies the compared result of the PC performance provided from the Web server 30, and the user requests the upgrade for the entire of the system or partial components, the Web server stores the information on the entire of the system or partial components of the user to be upgraded in the upgrade request database, and provides the related providers 2 joined as a membership with the information on the user system and the information on the entire of the system or partial components of the user to be upgraded, which are stored in the Web server. The related providers select the optimum product most suitable to the user system to provide the user 1 with the information and price of the upgrade component of the PC. (steps S36 to S41) The user compares much information (estimation, component specification and the like) provided from the related providers 2 to select the optimum condition. The Web server provides the electron commercial service requested by the user. (step S42) Specifically, the related providers 2 receive the information on PC system of the user from the Web server, and provide the user 1 with a price and suggestion

for the component to be upgraded or the entire of PC. The user 1 checks and selects the information on the optimum upgrade component, and purchases the corresponding component or the entire of the PC from the related provider 2, thereby providing the Internet service to achieve the electronic commerce with the related providers 2.

Furthermore, after upgrading the used computer or PC, if the user selects the barter for the unnecessary components of the PC, the user registers the transaction information

in the barter database. The user selects a list of exchanging products provided from the PC specification database of the Web server to prepare the exchange condition, and divides the list into the entire selected components or partial components to send it to the Web server 30. The Web server 30 stores the sent information in the barter database. (steps S43 to S49) After that, if the user wants to transact it by retrieving the barter database, the user retrieves the barter database registered in the Web server to undergo the barter to identify the components to be bartered and the price condition, which are registered by other user. If the retrieved components and the barter condition are proper, the user sends a transaction request message to the corresponding user by the e-mail. If a transaction approval message is sent from the corresponding user, the barter is implemented by conference between the persons concerned.

At that time, the Web server provides the both of them with the basic personal information required for the barter. (steps S50 to S54, and S56) If a rejection message is sent from the corresponding user due to the improper barter conditions, it proceeds to the step of retrieving the barter database. (step S55) Also, the Web server notifies the user of the expiration of the period of notice for data expired on a predetermined period. If the user wants to delete the date expired on the predetermined period, it is deleted, otherwise it is conserved. (steps S57 and 58) Of course, in order to reduce a load of the Web server, the data expired on the predetermined period may be automatically deleted.

The Web server 30 provides the used PC export/selling provider 3 with the selling information (selling price, PC specification and the like) on the unnecessary or disused components after upgrading the PC, the information on estimated demanding components, and the information on the used PC sales, as well as the barter. The used PC export/selling provider 3 provides the Web server with the information on used products demand (purchasing price, PC specification, component specification, the number of purchasing persons) of purchaser, thereby achieving the electronic commerce of the used components.

If the user selects the A/S, the Web server retrieves the registered PC specification database of the user, and

analyzes the problems of the requested PC on the based on the data of the user PC to send the information (information on the product to be provided with A/S) of the user PC specification, the problems and requirement to the A/S center 4 in real time. (steps S59 to S62) The A/S center 4 receiving the data sent from the Web server makes the correct diagnosis after analyzing the A/S PC on the basis of the sent data, and performs the after-sales service as soon as possible. (steps S63 to S65). At that time, if the user wants to receive the A/S request service through other Internet PC, not his/her registered PC because of trouble of his/her PC, the Web server processes it by use of the information on the updated user system stored in the PC specification database of the user.

Therefore, according to the PC managing service provided to the user over the Internet, the user can check the specification for his/her PC, and compare it with the performance of the relative computer. The automatic retrieval of the device driver suitable for the system can be implemented. If there is the A/S problem for the PC, the Web server is connected to an adjacent online A/S center, and the A/S center receives the information on the client, thereby providing the A/S service through the correct diagnosis.

Industrial Applicability As apparent from the above description, if the user downloads and installs the application program to the computer of the user from the Web server, the user PC may retrieve automatically the specification for his/her PC, and temporally stores it. If the PC is connected to the Internet, the Web server stores the information in the PC specification database of the user by capturing it in real time. Whenever the user requests, the Web server provides the user with the PC specification captured in real time on the basis of the PC specification database, so that the user may check correctly how be his/her PC constructed and may be provided with much information required to maintain the optimum PC specification.

In addition, the present invention upgrades the latest program related to the device driver in the user PC on the basis of the information of the automatically retrieved PC specification of the user. If the user requests the upgrade of the hardware product, the Web server provides the user with the optimum upgrade information on the based of the automatically captured specification of the user PC, so that the user can manage his/her PC effectively to reduce an unnecessary cost.

The present invention compares the latest information every component of the PC, thereby notifying the user of

how much does his/her PC have the performance. The performance will be displayed in a graph or value, thereby easily understanding it. A method of optimizing the PC and solving the problem is provided as contents. Upon generating a problem in the PC, the A/S center connects to the Internet Web server, so that the specification for the client PC is easily understood.

Recycle of the PC is improved by an auction, a reverse auction or a barter for the disused components of the PC after upgrading the PC or the used computer.
