Abstract:
The present invention relates to a technical idea of managing green areas by using an enhanced vegetation index (EVI) and a green chlorophyll index (GCI), in real-time monitoring and uniform management of a growth state of grass distributed over a wide area. A system for managing green areas, according to an embodiment, may comprise: an image data generation unit which generates image data by capturing an image of a target area; an index calculation unit which, from the generated image data, calculates a vegetation index on the basis of an EVI for each pixel and calculates a health index on the basis of a GCI; a map data generation unit which generates a complete map expressed in colors corresponding to the calculated vegetation index and health index; a segmentation processing unit which segments the image data on the basis of the colors expressed in the complete map; a soil data sensing unit which generates an average value of soil data sensed in a region corresponding to segmented pixels; and a quantification processing unit which, in the region corresponding to the segmented pixels, quantifies growth information about plants in the region by using the vegetation index, the health index, and the average value of the soil data.
