Abstract:

A track bed ballast replacement system for railroad, comprising a working train (51) having hopper cars (53a to 53e) loaded with new ballast (NB) and a ballast working car (52), the ballast working car (52) further comprising carrying-out conveyors (57a, 57b) carrying out scraped existing ballast (B) to a rearmost hopper car (53e) and a carrying-in conveyor (58) carrying in new ballast (NB) to an excavated part (21) where the ballast (B) was scraped, the hopper cars (53a to 53e) further comprising a first belt conveyor (61) for feeding the ballast (B) to a forwardmost hopper car (53a) and second and third belt conveyors (62, 63) for feeding new ballast (NB) to the carrying-in conveyor (58).
