The present invention relates to a system-oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, said system-oil composition having a high heat tolerance and being useful for improving fuel economy. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system-oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, said system-oil composition being characterized in that the base oil thereof comprises a synthetic oil and/or a mineral oil (A) and being further characterized by a kinetic viscosity at 50°C of at least 35 mm2/s, a high-shear viscosity at 50°C of at most 45 mPa∙s, and a high-shear viscosity at 70°C of at least 15 mPa∙s.
