Title:
SYSTEM FOR SYNCHRONIZING TRAVELING OF TRAILER OR THE LIKE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/095171
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An existing system for synchronizing the brakes of a tractor and a trailer is not suitable when a self-propelled vehicle, e.g. a self-propelled truck, is used as a trailer because it has no switching function. A system for braking the trailer with the inertia of a weight being generated through braking of the tractor is slow in response. A system of the inventor for synchronizing the accelerator disclosed in Laid-open No. 2003-118614 is not simple in structure and requires adjustment every time when the tractor and the trailer are coupled. The system for synchronizing traveling of the trailer, or the like, comprises a bar for coupling the tractor and the trailer extensibly, and controls the brake system and/or the accelerator of the trailer based on two systems; a means for detecting excess and deficiency in the braking power and/or the driving power of the trailer with respect to the tractor as a extensible displacement of the coupling bar, and a means for detecting brake operation or accelerating operation of the tractor in the form of an electric signal or a pneumatic signal.
