Title:
SYSTEM TO HEAT LIQUID WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2004070286
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
A system to heat liquids. A liquid, such as water, is heated by microwave energy. A housing assembly (20) comprises a plurality of magnetrons (62, 64, 66), which may be arranged in a vertical manner. Conduit (50), which allows the water to flow therethrough, is secured within the housing assembly (20). Incoming cold water enters the housing assembly (20) through a first one-way valve (36) and the conduit (50). The conduit (50) coils within the housing assembly (20) and the water is heated within the conduit (50) by the magnetrons (62, 64, 66) when producing microwave energy. Outgoing hot water exits the housing assembly (20) through the conduit (50) and a second one-way valve (48), which accommodates the flow of hot water therethrough. The magnetrons (62, 64, 66) are controlled by thermostats (42, 44, 46), which maintain an outgoing water temperature at a predetermined level.
