Abstract:
A tape printer prevents shifting of a printed dot due to a reverse rotation upon DC motor stop when power supply to a DC motor is resumed. When the power supply to the DC motor is interrupted, the DC motor often rotates in a reverse direction immediately before rotation of the motor stops. This reverse direction rotation amount is sensed by an encoder. This amount is compensated immediately after the power supply to the DC motor is resumed. After the normal rotation amount identical to the reverse rotation amount is sensed, printing by the printing head is resumed.
