Abstract:
A target detection device 6 detects a target by using an image IMG from an imaging device 4 having a maximum position and minimum position for the amount of light incident on an imaging element due to the optical design. The target detection device 6 uses a correction factor that is preset for each of the pixels of the image IMG to correct the pixel values of each of the pixels of the image IMG used for target detection and generate a corrected image, and extracts light spots from the corrected image to detect the target on the basis of the light spots. The correction factor is equal to a numerical value obtained by weighting the pixel value of a reference pixel corresponding to the maximum position by the distance from the reference pixel to each of the pixels and by the rate of decrease in the pixel value of each of the pixels with respect to the pixel value of the reference pixel due to the optical design.
