Abstract:
A target type identification device is provided with: a polygonal pattern generation unit (6) for extracting a plurality of luminance points from dictionary images for groups, generating a dictionary polygonal pattern for each dictionary image that has the plurality of luminance points as the vertices thereof, extracting a plurality of luminance points from an observed image, and generating a target polygonal pattern having the plurality of luminance points as the vertices thereof; and a pattern comparison unit (10) for comparing the dictionary polygonal pattern for each group and the target polygonal pattern. A type determination unit (15) uses the pattern comparison results from the pattern comparison unit (10) to determine the type of an unknown target.
