3. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Conventional tea bags that are currently marketed consists of a pouch made of a porous membrane with a string stapled to the top of the pouch. The conventional tea bag usually has a brand tag or manufacturer's label attached to one end of the string, which also serves the purpose of holding the tea bag by the user. The pouch i. e the porous membrane in a conventional tea bag is also exposed totally, which is done to enable the hot liquid to enter into the porous membrane from all sides.

Tea by its very nature has the tendency to absorb odours and/or flavours from articles kept nearby or surrounding it. As a result of which the tea leaves or the tea powder contained in the pouch of the conventional tea bag tends to absorb odours and/or flavours when stored in shelves of grocery shops, kitchens etc. The tea also tends to absorb the odours and/or flavours of the print markings on the labels or brand tags which are attached to the conventional tea bag. In some cases the staple pin loosens itself and slips in the tea cup unknown to the consumer who consumes the tea along with the staple pin. In yet other cases, the string gets detached making the tea bag unusable.

4. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The object or purpose of the invention is to manufacture a tea bag wherein the tea leaves or tea powder contained in the tea pouch does not lose its aroma and retains its freshness for a long time which will in turn increase the shelf life of the product.

Moreover the tea bag is manufactured without having to attach the string to the pouch with the help of a staple pin. The invention achieves the purpose of manufacturing the tea bag whereby the tea powder or tea leaves does not lose its aroma due to the contact of other foreign products kept nearby.

5. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The inventor has invented a tea bag, which is unique in its utility value wherein the tea pouch or tea bag does not contain the brand tag or label of the manufacturer and is instead enclosed in separate outer packing, which carries the print markings of the manufacturer. Further the invention does away with the use of the staple pin which can be manufactured without using of a staple pin, and moreover the complete manufacturing process of the tea bag could still be done through machines and untouched by the human hand.

The invention (the tea bag) comprises of a porous membrane (the tea pouch) which has a string fastened/sealed/attached to one top end of the tea pouch and the other end of the string is fastened/sealed/attached to the opposite top end of the tea pouch, the opposite top end being a tear away portion with perforations. The tear away portion is either straight or curved. The porous membrane i. e. the tea pouch is sealed on all three sides, top, right and left. The bottom of the tea pouch has a gusset. The tea pouch is then enclosed in an outer pouch, which is sealed, thereby eliminating the possibility of the tea powder, or tea leaves from absorbing odours and/or flavours from foreign articles kept nearby. The user tears away the tear away portion and the tea bag is ready to be dipped in the hot liquid.

The invention could be manufactured in a complete mechanized manner.

7. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING With reference to the drawings (i. e. Figures) to 8), the invention (tea bag) comprises of a porous membrane (called the tea pouch) which has a string fastened/sealed/attached to one top end of the tea pouch and the other end of the string is fastened/sealed/attached to the opposite top end of the tea pouch, the opposite top end being a tear away portion with perforations. The tear away portion could be straight (Fig. 3) or curved (Fig. 6). The tea bag is then enclosed in an outer pouch (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2), which is sealed, thereby eliminating the possibility of the tea powder, or tea leaves from absorbing odours and/or flavours from foreign articles kept nearby. The user tears away the tear away portion and the tea bag is ready to be dipped in the hot liquid.

As could be seen in Figures 1 and 2 the tea pouch containing the tea powder or tea leaves is enclosed in the outer pouch and the tea leaves or tea powder is free from odours and/or flavours from any foreign articles stored nearby. This also increases the shelf life ofthe tea.

Fig. 3 is a front plain view of the tea bag without the outer pouch. The tea bag consists of the porous membrane (called the tea pouch) with a thread (identified as (I) in this figure), which is sealed to one top corner of the tea bag and the other end of the thread sealed to a tear away portion (identified as (2) in this figure). The tear away portion is straight in this figure and contains perforations for easy detachment from the tea bag. The tea bag contains a tram line sealed area (identified as (4) in this figure) running on the periphery on three sides of the tea bag, except on the bottom of the tea bag.

Fig. 4 is a side view of the tea bag without the outer pouch. It corresponds to the tea bag with a straight tag. The bottom gusset of the tea bag is identified as (3) in this figure.

Fig. 5 is front plain view of the invention showing the tea bag without the outer pouch, with the tear away portion detached from the tea bag. The tear away portion in this figure is straight (identified as (2) in this figure). The thread (identified as (1) in this figure) in the tea bag is sealed to one top corner of the tea bag and the other end of the thread is sealed to the tear away portion of the tea bag. The bottom gusset of the tea bag is identified as (3) in this figure and the tram line sealed area is identified as (4) in this figure.

Fig. 6 is a front plain view of the invention showing the tea bag without the outer pouch with the tear away portion not detached from the tea bag. In this figure the tear away portion is curved. This figure is identical to Fig. 2 except for the tear away portion being curved.

Fig. 7 is a side view of the tea bag, without the outer pouch. It corresponds to the tea bag with a curved tag. The bottom gusset of the tea bag is identified as (3) in this figure. When viewed from the side view Figures 4 and 7 are identical as the tear away portion (either straight or curved) is not visible in these two figures.

Fig. 8 is a front plain view of the invention showing the tea bag without the outer pouch with the tear away portion detached from the tea bag. In this figure the tear away portion is curved.
