Abstract:
A temperature controller that by creating of a temperature gradient on a heat conductor surface, can simultaneously adjust multiple samples disposed on the surface to different temperatures and can regulate a temperature profile of the heat conductor surface as desired. There is provided a temperature controller comprising a heating/cooling device and a heat conductor disposed in thermal contact with the heating/cooling device, wherein in accordance with the temperature of the heat conductor, the temperature of samples disposed in thermal contact therewith is regulated. In the temperature controller, two or more heating/cooling devices are disposed, and by setting of these for different temperatures, a temperature gradient is created on a surface of heat conductor in thermal contact with the samples. The heat conductor is composed of two or more types of materials whose values dc/K, wherein the specific gravity is referred to as d[kg/m3], the specific heat as c[J/(kg·K)] and the thermal conductivity as K[W/(m·K)], are different from each other.
