Abstract:
In an optical fiber temperature detector which employs the temperature change of a double refraction in a double refraction crystal, an LiTaO3 or SrxBa1-xNb2O6 single crystal (0.5 x 1.0) is used as a sensor material (13), crystal is used as a temperature range setting material (16), and a high sensitivity and highly stable temperature detector can be realized with a light emitting diode as a light source. Further, a rutile (11) or calcite is disposed as a sensor structure between optical fibers (8, 9) and a rod lens (12), a polarization isolation is carried out, thereby reducing the size and weight of the detector.
