A tent top portion module structure having a side pull cord. The tent top portion module structure comprises an upper mould base (1) pivotally connected to various tent frame rods (A), and a lower mould base (2) pivotally connected to various auxiliary support rods (B), other ends of the various auxiliary support rods (B) being pivotally connected to the tent frame rods (A). The upper mould base (1) and the lower mould base (2) are connected together via a pull cord (3), one end of the pull cord (3) being fixed on the upper mould base (1), free ends crossing a pulley (4) arranged within the lower mould base (2) and extending out from a side wall of the lower mould base (2) for a user to apply force. When the tent is opened up, the lower mould base (2) is located above a horizontal line of pivot connection points (C) of the auxiliary support rods (B) and the tent frame rods (A). The top portion module structure enables the action of opening up the tent to be easier. The additional arrangement of a positioning mechanism is not necessary, and the entire module structure is simpler.
