The present application relates to the technical field of terminals, and provides a terminal device and a charging method. The terminal device comprises a tablet and a keyboard; the tablet comprises a first controller, a first charging interface and a battery; the keyboard comprises a second controller and a second charging interface; the keyboard does not carry a battery; the first controller and the second controller communicate by means of a data line in 3pin. When the first charging interface is connected to a first external power supply and the second charging interface is connected to a second external power supply, and the charging power at the first charging interface is greater than the charging power at the second charging interface, the first charging interface is selected to charge the tablet and power is supplied to the keyboard by means of a power line in the 3pin; otherwise, the second charging interface is selected to supply power to the keyboard and the tablet is charged by means of the power line in the 3pin. The keyboard does not comprise a battery; thus, the size and weight of the keyboard are reduced, and lightening and thinning are achieved. The keyboard side and the tablet side are both connected to chargers, and the side having greater charging power is selected for charging; thus, the charging rate is high, and full charge can be quickly implemented.
