Abstract:
A terminal 10 is provided with: a square tube part 11 to which a tab 41 of a mating terminal 40 is inserted from the front side; an elastic contact piece 15 provided inside the square tube part 11; and a receiving part 19 that is provided inside the square tube part 11 and that holds, together with the elastic contact piece 15, the tab 41. The square tube part 11 has a first wall 12 to which the elastic contact piece 15 is provided, a second wall 13 to which the receiving part 19 is provided, and a pair of lateral walls 14 that connect opposite edges of the first wall 12 and opposite edges of the second wall 13. The direction in which the pair of lateral walls 14 face is defined as a first direction, and at least one of the pair of the lateral walls 14 has an elastic piece 23 that presses an edge of the tab 41 in the first direction toward the inside of the square tube part 11, and inhibits the tab 41 from moving in the first direction. The square tube part 11 has a stopper section 22 that inhibits a leading-end part 23A of the elastic piece 23 from moving in the first direction toward the inside of the square tube part 11. The elastic piece 23 has an abutment part 27 disposed opposite to the stopper section 22 in the first direction. The stopper section 22 is disposed between the elastic contact piece 15 and the elastic piece 23 in the first direction, and as a result of abutment of the abutment part 27 against the stopper section 22, the leading-end part 23A of the elastic piece 23 is inhibited from contacting with the elastic contact piece 15.
