Abstract:
Disclosed is a test apparatus for a suction bucket having three casings. The apparatus can be used to measure external frictional resistance, internal frictional resistance, and end resistance of the suction bucket during an installation process, and to evaluate changes in internal soil plugs and a seepage field. The apparatus of the invention comprises a bucket body, a negative-pressure suction system, a sensor measurement system, and a data acquisition and control system. The suction bucket used in the apparatus has a three-casing structure, and a certain gap exists between each two adjacent casings, such that the internal frictional resistance, the external frictional resistance, and the end resistance, to which the suction bucket is subjected, are separate from each other. During installation of the suction bucket, the negative-pressure suction system allows negative pressure to be formed in the suction bucket, and a vertical guide rod ensures that the suction bucket vertically penetrates into soil. The test apparatus of the invention can be used to analyze a variety of resistances to which the suction bucket is subjected during the installation process, expansion of soil plugs in the bucket, and an evolutionary mechanism of pore pressure and earth pressure around the bucket body.
