Abstract:
The present application relates to the technical field of chips. Disclosed are a texture processing method and apparatus, being used for solving the problem of large hardware resource overhead caused by the use of tri-filtering in a texture mapping process. The apparatus comprises: a texture coordinate calculation controller, configured to determine the first texture coordinates of texture coordinates in a first-layer texture corresponding to a LOD, and if the first texture coordinates are within a preset coordinate range, transmit the first texture coordinates to a texel coordinate calculator; the texel coordinate calculator, configured to determine first texel coordinates according to the first texture coordinates and the size of the first-layer texture, and transmit the first texel coordinates and indication information to a coordinate estimator; and the coordinate estimator, configured to estimate second texel coordinates corresponding to second texture coordinates according to the first texel coordinates, and transmit the first texel coordinates and the second texel coordinates to a cache controller, the first texel coordinates being used for determining a first texel, and the second texel coordinates being used for determining a second texel. The embodiments of the present application are used for texture mapping.
