Title:
THERMAL EXPANSION MICROSPHERES AND HOLLOW FINE PARTICLES, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THEM, AND ASSEMBLY OF TIRE AND RIM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/049616
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention provides thermal expansion microspheres that are a raw material for hollow fine particles having excellent properties required for imparting durability in a usual running area but also durability as well as in a high speed running area to an assembly of a tire and a rim. The thermal expansion microspheres each comprise an outer shell formed of a thermoplastic resin produced by polymerizing, in the presence of a polymerization initiator, a monomer component, and a foaming agent encapsulated in the outer shell and having a boiling point at or below the softening point of the thermoplastic resin. The polymerization initiator comprises peroxydicarbonate as an indispensable component, and the foaming agent has an ether structure, is free from a chlorine atom and a bromine atom and contains a fluorocompound having 2 to 10 carbon atoms.
