Abstract:
This thermal flow rate sensor is provided with: a first temperature sensor 20 which detects the temperature of a certain location on an outer wall surface of a pipe 10; a heat transfer element 50 which is disposed on the outer wall surface of the pipe 10, remote from the first temperature sensor 20, and which exchanges heat with a measured medium by heating or cooling the outer wall surface of the pipe 10; a second temperature sensor 30 which detects the temperature of the part of the outer wall surface of the pipe 10 that has been heated or cooled by the heat transfer element 50; and a control unit 60 which performs certain processes. Then, a heat flux sensor 40 which directly detects heat flux between the heat transfer element 50 and the pipe 10 is disposed between the heat transfer element 50 and the outer wall surface of the pipe 10, and the control unit 60 detects the flow rate of the measured medium on the basis of the temperature detected by the first temperature sensor 20, the temperature detected by the second temperature sensor 30, and the heat flux directly detected by the heat flux sensor.
