Abstract:
Provided is a thermal transfer recording medium that is resistant to the occurrence of dye precipitation and scumming (good storage stability) and has a high dye transfer sensitivity. The thermal transfer recording medium (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention has a heat-resistant slip layer (40) laminated on one side of a substrate (10) and an undercoat layer (20) and a dye layer (30) laminated in the indicated sequence on the other side. The dye layer (30) contains compounds I, II, and III as a cyan dye and also contains, as binder, a polyvinyl acetal resin, a phenoxy resin, and a graft copolymer in which the main chain comprises polycarbonate and the side chain comprises a vinyl polymer.
