Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a thermal transfer sheet capable of forming a good image on either a transfer-receiving body having low smoothness or a transfer-receiving body having high smoothness. [Solution] This thermal transfer sheet is characterized by comprising: a substrate; and a transfer layer that includes a release layer, a coloring layer and an adhesive layer. The release layer contains a polyethylene glycol having a number-average molecular weight of 8,000 to 23,000, and the coloring layer contains a coloring material and at least one of a polyester and a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer.
