Abstract:
This thermoacoustic device comprises a loop-shaped waveguide and a heat exchanger. The loop-shaped waveguide is filled with a medium. The heat exchanger is provided inside the waveguide and has a low-temperature part and a high-temperature part. The phase velocity of the sound wave produced and amplified in the medium by the temperature gradient produced between the low-temperature part and the high-temperature part corresponds to the rate of the rising or falling of the temperature, produced by the temperature gradient, of the medium.
