Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a thermoelectric power generation apparatus and a thermoelectric power generation method, wherein service life of a thermoelectric power generation element can be lengthened with a simple configuration. In order to achieve the purpose, the present invention discloses a thermoelectric power generation apparatus (1), which converts thermal energy into electric energy using a thermoelectric power generation element (10), and outputs the electric energy. The thermoelectric power generation apparatus is provided with: a temperature sensor (10a) that measures a high temperature-side temperature (Th) of the thermoelectric power generation element (10); and a temperature control unit (17) that performs a control to increase the quantity of a current to be fed back to the thermoelectric power generation element (10) when the high temperature-side temperature (Th) exceeds a predetermined temperature. In order to increase the quantity of the current to be fed back to the thermoelectric power generation element (10), the temperature control unit (17) turns on a switch (SW), for instance.
