Abstract:

Provided are a method for manufacturing a thermoplastic resin molded article having a hollow portion, and a thermoplastic resin molded article with the upper surface thereof having a surface area of 1 m2 or more manufactured by the method, the method being characterized in that a molded article (A) produced from a thermoplastic resin and premolded is set in a first die, a melted thermoplastic resin plate (B) is attached to the inner surface of a second die facing the first die by vacuum pressure to thereby be shaped along the inner surface of the second die, the thermoplastic resin plate (B) and the molded article (A) are welded only in a predetermined region by mold-clamping the first die and the second die, and at least part of an unwelded region is formed as a hollow portion. Even when it is requested to form a thin and large-area resin molded structure and a hollow structure in part thereof, a thermoplastic resin molded article having the target structure can be easily, efficiently, and moreover accurately manufactured.
