Abstract:
This thermosetting liquid crystal composition has photo-aligning characteristics and contains: a side chain-type liquid crystal polymer (A) having a liquid crystalline structural unit that includes a liquid crystalline moiety in a side chain thereof, and a non-liquid crystalline structural unit that includes an alkylene group in a side chain thereof; a copolymer (B) having a photo-aligning structural unit that includes a photo-aligning group in a side chain thereof, and a thermal cross-linking structural unit that has a thermal cross-linking group in a side chain thereof, the photo-aligning structural unit not having a straight-chain alkylene group between a monomer unit and the photo-aligning group; and a thermal cross-linking agent (C) that binds to the thermal cross-linking group of the thermal cross-linking structural unit.
