Abstract:
A thermosetting resin composition according to the present invention is characterized by comprising at least the following constituent elements (A), (B) and (C). (A) A thermosetting resin (B) A curing agent (C) Polyamide particles that satisfy the following requirements (c1) to (c6) (c1) The melting point of a polyamide resin that constitutes the polyamide particles is from 200°C to 300°C. (c2) The crystallization temperature of the polyamide resin that constitutes the polyamide particles is from 150°C to 250°C. (c3) The number average particle diameter of the polyamide particles is from 1 μm to 100 μm. (c4) The sphericity of the polyamide particles is from 80 to 100. (c5) The linseed oil absorption of the polyamide particles is from 10 mL/100 g to 100 mL/100 g. A thermosetting resin composition according to the present invention is capable of favorably producing a fiber-reinforced composite material that has sufficient compressive strength after impact and sufficient wet heat compression performance. A fiber-reinforced composite material which is produced using a thermosetting resin composition according to the present invention has high tensile strength, high impact resistance and high chemical resistance, and is thus able to be used in wide range of applications including aerospace applications that require high mechanical characteristics and general industrial applications such as windmills, automobiles and bicycles.
